How many times do you say “walking feet” in a day? 😂 If you work in early years, you’ll know the answer is… a lot! Especially at the start of a new term, when children are settling in and getting used to routines. There’s lots of repeating, reminding and explaining and we’ll keep doing it for as long as it takes. Because routines and safety matter, and sometimes learning something really does mean hearing it again… and again… and again. 😂 #walkingfeet #earlyyears #childcare #teamabc

SMALL CHANGES CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE. ✨ Last week, our team came together for a training session with Cheshire East Council, exploring behaviour, routines and boundaries, shared expectations, inclusive practice and lots more. But training is only the beginning. The real work happens when we take what we’ve learned and start putting it into practice… not all at once, but through small, steady changes. One idea we wanted to build on was using visual prompts to make everyday expectations clearer for children. These prompts will: 👀 Make expectations visible 🧺 Show children what “tidy” actually looks like 💭 Give children time to understand and use their environment 🙌 Build routines and expectations together We’ve always used visuals across our settings, but this gave us another way to think about how we can use them. Our apprentices, who joined us for the training too, took on the challenge of creating our ‘What Tidy Looks Like’ cards. And this is where we’ve started. ✨ Four cards. One small change. The beginning of something we’ll continue to build on. Learning. Trying. Reflecting. Improving. We’re always looking for ways to make a positive difference to our children’s experiences. 💙💚❤️ #earlyyears #inclusivepractice #childcare #cheshireeast

It has been such a joy to welcome new children and families to our settings in Crewe, Audlem and Congleton, alongside welcoming back so many of our familiar faces.
