A little about us
Looking for a nursery in Crewe for your baby or toddler? At ABC- The House and Play Space, we offer childcare for children from 6 months old until the term after their third birthday.
Our home-from-home setting gives children space to explore, build relationships and grow in confidence. From discovering new textures and getting creative to outdoor adventures and visits into the local community, everyday experiences help children develop new skills and make sense of the world around them.
As children get older, they can move on to our teacher-led preschool at ABC Amazing Beginnings 4 Children on Crewe High Street, helping them take their next steps with ABC.

What we offer at The House and Play Space
At ABC at The House & Play Space, children have room to explore, follow their interests and feel at home. From cosy corners and familiar routines to new experiences and outdoor adventures, there’s something to discover every day.
Space to play and explore
Wooden toys, treasure baskets and cosy corners give children different ways to explore, while baking, creative activities and yoga bring new experiences into their day. We encourage children to make choices, share their ideas and discover things in their own way.
Growing in our kitchen garden
Our kitchen garden gives children the chance to get involved in growing food and plants, watching sunflowers, pumpkins and potatoes change over time. There’s digging, exploring and, of course, making mud pies! It’s a lovely way to get outdoors and discover more about the world around us.
Out and about in our community
We enjoy trips to local parks, green areas, local shops, post offices, the library, and more- helping children become familiar with the places around them and giving them new things to see, talk about and explore.
Care that fits your child
Every child is different. We get to know each child and their family, adapting routines to suit their needs and balancing busy activities with time to rest. Children have the freedom to follow their interests, with our team nearby to support them as they grow in confidence and independence.
Government funding
We have access to Government funding which means that from the first school term after your child turns 9 months, or celebrates their 2nd or 3rd birthday, they can attend for 15 or 30 hours a week FREE. Please call for more information. Extra sessions for children can also be booked outside of your free entitlement. We usually have three intakes a year – i.e. January, Easter and September. If we have spaces available, we would love to welcome your child earlier.

Our Learning
At ABC- The House and Play Space, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the framework that guides learning and development in early childhood.
Our ABC teachers have developed a learning programme based on how young children learn best: through play, exploration and everyday experiences. Activities are carefully planned to help children build skills, develop confidence, communicate with others and make sense of the world around them.
We believe it’s important that our team understands not just what children are learning, but why. This helps us make the most of everyday experiences and plan activities that support each child’s individual development.
Keeping parents informed
You’re an important part of your child’s learning journey. Through ParentZone, you can keep up with your child’s experiences at nursery, while our termly newsletters share news, activities and updates from the setting. We also hold termly parents’ evenings, giving you the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with the team.
