ABC at the Mill Day Nursery, Congleton

Overview

ABC at the Mill is proud to be your new day nursery in Congleton, joining our well-established settings in Crewe and Audlem. Since 2005, we have been dedicated to providing high-quality early years care and education for children aged 0 to 4 years.

Our experienced and carefully selected team of professionals are passionate about supporting every child’s development in a safe and nurturing environment. All staff are trained in Paediatric First Aid and hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in safeguarding, ensuring the highest standards of care at all times.

We understand that the early years is an important period of growth, discovery, and development. From first friendships to growing independence, our practitioners build strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families. Through a play-based approach inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence, supporting each child’s unique learning journey.

Our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor environments are created to inspire exploration and discovery. We view the environment as the third teacher.  With high-quality educational resources, cosy reading areas, our own art atelier, and a dedicated kindergarten gym, every space promotes different aspects of learning and development. Children are encouraged to explore, problem-solve, and develop independence, with our practitioners guiding and supporting them through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

We offer nutritious meals, full day care, and flexible half-day sessions to suit your family’s needs. We also accept funded childcare, making quality early education accessible to all.

At ABC at the Mill, we work in close partnership with families to provide a nurturing, holistic start to each child’s journey, laying the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

What we offer

Our friendly and dedicated team create exceptional opportunities for every child to play, learn and grow. Children are at the heart of everything we do, and our passion is reflected in the carefully planned experiences we provide. Our unique educational programmes, developed by qualified teachers, support children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development through a well rounded, child-centred approach.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we recognise that every child is unique and capable. By following their interests and encouraging exploration, we support each child as an individual, ensuring their needs are met through a holistic approach to learning and development.

We provide rich, real life experiences that help children make meaningful connections with the world around them. From visits to local parks and nature walks to baking activities, children are encouraged to explore and discover. We focus on community connections, including visits to nearby care homes, post offices and gardens, experiences that are truly valued by both the children and residents.

Outdoor play and connection with nature are an important part of daily life. Whether exploring our woodland garden or heading out on local adventures, children are given plenty of opportunities to enjoy fresh air, movement and discovery.

We also place great importance on health and wellbeing. Through activities such as yoga, dance and active play, alongside nutritious snacks and drinks, we support the development of healthy bodies and minds.

Our environment offers a balance of imaginative play and purposeful learning within a warm, homely setting. We create inviting, creative spaces where children feel safe, inspired and excited to learn.

We are a vibrant and inclusive nursery that celebrates every child and family who joins us. We warmly welcome you to visit and discover how we can support your child’s early years journey.

Government funding

We have access to Government funding which means that from the first school term after your child turns 9 months, or celebrates their 2nd or 3rd birthday, they can attend for 15 or 30 hours a week FREE. Please call for more information. Extra sessions for children can also be booked outside of your free entitlement. We usually have three intakes a year  – i.e. January, Easter and September. If we have spaces available, we would love to welcome your child earlier.
