Our first setting is childcare on domestic premises and is based in my home. A team of 5 experienced carers (all of which are trained in first aid) look after babies, toddlers, pre-school and school aged children. It is our aim to create a friendly, homely and welcoming environment for you and your child. Our service is unique and personal with lots of social interaction, communication and physical development being emphasised through the activities we offer. We do not just stay in the house, we venture in to the community, giving children a good understanding of the world around them. We visit local parks, our allotment and we also visit our own private woodland!
It is of such vital importance that when a family decides to leave one or more of their children with a childminder or nursery, that they feel safe and secure in the knowledge that it is the best thing for their child and that their child feels safe, secure, stimulated and above all happy. It is our mission at ABC to create an environment that mirrors the needs of families and their children and to truly take care of your child in a way that you would in your own home.
As many of our children are younger than pre school children, we work very hard to create a home from home environment that meets the needs of babies, toddlers and pre school children. Our house is a wonderful place to make this happen, and the whole team really enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that each day brings and the beautiful things that your children say and do whilst they are with us.
At ABC we work very hard to ensure there is a balance between activity and rest. We aim to work with you to meet your child's individual needs. This means that there is flexibility with our 'typical' daily routines. We also ask the children what they would like to do and plan activities following their lead. We create Learning Journeys of your child's development, which you get to see regularly and becomes yours when your child leaves our setting.
In the environment, you will see homely accessories, wooden toys, cosy corners, heuristic resources and treasure baskets. We value the importance of outdoor play and fresh air. A favourite activity of the children's is visiting our allotment plot. They grow pumpkins, sunflowers, potatoes and make mud pies! I also lead yoga sessions for the children to enjoy.
